Radical: Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream by David Platt
I posted a quick review here right before I finished the book.
This has truly been a life changing book for me. If I was ever to recommend a book for someone to read - this would be it. It has taken me so long to write this review because I can not pick just one or two things to write about - I want to include everything.
David Platt writes directly to your heart and holds nothing back. President Obama once said that he no longer believes that America is a Christian nation... and sadly after reading this I would agree. We as Christians in the US are shaming Jesus and what He did for us. And the commandments He gave to us upon His death. We hold so much back for fear of rebuking or hurt feelings. There are Christians all over this world who share the gospel without a second thought... and they have death to fear because of it. We are so weak.
David Platt ends this book with a year-long radical experiment. Below are the five components for this experiment.
Pray for the entire world
Read through the entire Word
Sacrifice your money for a specific purpose
Spend your time in another context
Commit your life to a multiplying community.
